Generously donated by Commonwealth Bank, Daikota is creating a series of paintings to be displayed in their Sydney branches.This particular painting tells the story of the artist's two grandmothers as they protect and nurture the family growing up.

Emily Pwerle is sister to fellow famous artist Minnie Pwerle. Emily hails from Utopia, also known as Urauntja. The images and patterns depicted in her paintings are symbolic of dreamtime symbols and she often weaves together multiple dreamings at once.She has been featured in well over a dozen galleries since 2005 as well as having her works on permanent display in different SA galleries.
